The band Dragon Pony announces a new arrival in the music scene by making their official debut with their first EP album [POP UP] on September 26, 2024.

The album [POP UP] consists of a total of 5 songs, including 'Morse Code', 'Snake Eating Its Tail', 'Traffic Jam', 'Pity Punk', which were pre-released through live clips since the beginning of this year, and the new title track 'POP UP'.

The first track and title song, 'POP UP,' captures the passionate cry of a non-mainstream boy and contains Dragon Pony's autobiographical message of refusing to follow a straight-line path or conform to the standards set by society. It conveys a free cry to willingly embrace anxiety and fear—even if the beginning is not perfect and the next step is unpredictable—and to simply sing and dance joyfully.

Furthermore, this album fully captures Dragon Pony's unique strength of stably maintaining the core of the 'rock' genre through a three-dimensional sound solidly built upon a band composition that is most faithful to the basics.

In 'Morse Code' and 'Traffic Jam', which have a refreshing and lyrical tone, they show the image of ordinary boys who are immature and honest in the face of love, while in 'Pity Punk', they pour out their despair after a breakup with a poignant punk sound, and in 'Snake Eating Its Tail', they convey a progressive and heavy message of criticism, creating an intense rock sound.

With all members completing the lyrics, composition, and arrangement of every song as main producers, their first debut album [POP UP] has elevated the musical value and is set to continue its free and energetic journey unhesitatingly, imprinting the image of self-driving power that shines as Dragon Pony itself.

밴드 Dragon Pony (드래곤포니)가 2024년 9월 26일 첫 EP 앨범 [POP UP]으로 본격 데뷔하며 음악씬에 새로운 등장을 알린다.

앨범 [POP UP]은 올해 초부터 라이브 클립을 통해 선공개 된 '모스부호', '꼬리를 먹는 뱀', 'Traffic Jam', 'Pity Punk'와 새로운 타이틀곡 'POP UP'을 포함, 총 5곡으로 구성되어 있다.

첫 번째 트랙이자 타이틀곡인 'POP UP'은 비주류 소년의 뜨거운 외침을 담은 곡으로 곧게 설계된 길을 가거나 사회가 정한 기준에 맞추지 않겠다는 드래곤포니의 자전적인 메세지가 담겨있다. 시작이 완벽하지도 또 다음 걸음이 어디로 향할지 알 수 없지만, 불안과 두려움을 기꺼이 껴안고 일단 즐겁게 노래하고 춤추자는 자유로운 외침이 전해진다.

또한 이번 앨범에는 기본에 가장 충실한 밴드 구성을 기반으로 탄탄하게 쌓아 올린 입체적인 사운드를 통해 '락'이라는 장르적 핵심을 안정적으로 유지하는 드래곤포니만의 강점이 고스란히 담겨져있다.

청량하고 서정적인 톤의 '모스부호'와 'Traffic Jam'에서 사랑 앞에 미숙하고 솔직한 보통의 소년들의 모습을 보여주는 반면, 'Pity Punk'에서는 이별 후 낙심을 쏟아낸 애절한 펑크를, '꼬리를 먹는 뱀'에서는 진취적이고 묵직한 비판의 메세지를 전달하며 강렬한 락 사운드를 느끼게 한다.
