The return of Korea's one-of-a-kind legendary rock band, an epic saga completed after 11 years.
The Kukkastan is back. And not just a simple return, but an artistic explosion born from 11 years of concentrated time.

South Korea's leading rock band, Guckkasten, is releasing their third full-length album, [AURUM]. This album, their first in 11 years since their second full-length album, is the culmination of extensive work and contains 21 tracks divided into six themes. Furthermore, they collaborated with sculptor Ji Yong-ho to create sculptures that embody the messages of each song, heralding a new artistic experience that transcends music and combines sculpture with the artistry of music, raising expectations from fans and the public.

Aurum is the Latin word for "gold." (The origin of the elemental symbol Au for gold.) Etymologically, it is connected to Indo-European roots and means "dawn/shine." The core of the colorful narrative that encompasses this album is the "value (golden song)" that Guckkasten has been searching for. This brilliant, incorruptible, eternal song (Aurum) is divided into six themes and developed. It explores and explores why we exist together, what a single step we take between darkness and light means, and what lies beyond everything we see and feel, inviting us into this kaleidoscopic, colorful, and exotic world.

The third regular album [AURUM] will be released in two versions: the regular edition [AURUM] version, which features cover artwork inspired by the atomic symbol of 'gold', the core message of the album, and the limited edition [Carousel Book] version, which reinterprets each sculpture as artwork and presents it in the form of a pop-up book. In particular, the limited edition will be limited to 1,000 copies, and its special configuration including an acrylic numbering card with a unique number adds to its collectible value.

국카스텐이 돌아온다. 그것도 단순한 귀환이 아닌 11년간 단단히 농축된 시간이 만들어낸 예술적 폭발로.

대한민국을 대표하는 록밴드 국카스텐이 정규 3집 앨범 [AURUM]을 발매한다. 지난 정규 2집 이후 무려 11년 만에 선보이는 이번 앨범은 오랜 시간의 작업 끝에 완성된 결실로, 총 21곡을 6개의 테마로 나누어 담았다. 또한 각 곡의 메시지를 형상화한 조각 작품을 조각가 지용호와의 협업을 통해 구현하며, 음악을 넘어 조각 예술과 결합한 새로운 예술적 경험을 예고하고 있어 팬들과 대중의 기대가 높아지고 있다.

Aurum은 '황금'을 뜻하는 라틴어다. (금의 원소 기호 Au의 유래.) 어원적으로는 인도유럽어 뿌리와 연결되어 '새벽/빛나다'를 뜻한다. 이번 앨범을 아우르는 다채로운 이야기의 핵심은 국카스텐이 찾아 헤맨 그들만의 '가치(황금의 노래)'이다. 그 찬란하며 썩지 않는 영원의 노래(Aurum)를 각각 6개의 테마로 나누어 전개하였다. 왜 우리가 서로 존재하는지, 어둠과 빛 사이에서도 내딛는 단 한 걸음이 무엇을 의미하는지, 우리가 보고 느끼는 모든 것의 너머에는 무엇이 있는지를 탐구하고 탐험하며, 그 만화경 같은 이채롭고 다채로운 세계로 우리를 초대한다.

정규 3집 [AURUM]은 앨범의 핵심 메시지인 '금'의 원자 기호를 모티프로 제작된 커버 아트워크 [AURUM] 버전의 일반반과, 각 조각 작품을 아트워크로 재해석해 팝업북 형태로 구현한 [카루셀북] 버전의 한정반으로 발매된다. 특히 한정반은 단 1,000장만 제작되며, 고유 번호가 새겨진 아크릴 넘버링 카드가 포함된 특별한 구성으로 소장 가치를 더한다.
