Ha Hyun-woo’s second solo EP [Anti ego]

Ha Hyun-woo, vocalist and singer-songwriter of the band Guckkasten, releases his second solo EP [Anti ego].

Ha Hyun-woo, who released his first solo EP [Ithaca] in 2018, which was a compilation of songs about the dreams in his heart and his journey to the ideal, tells a story of deeper inner reflection through his second solo EP [Anti ego] in over four years. give.

'Anti ego' is a symbolic message that runs through the album and roots all the stories. It is a warning and a question about the false 'me' created by the endless desire in the baseless myth for the true self, and it calls for the true self as it originally existed. It is said that when discovered and acknowledged, true understanding of “you” and reflection of “ourselves” are possible.

The album is organically connected and captures the entire process, expanding the world from my story of finding myself to a lament containing a prayer for everyone living in this era.

The title song 'My Enemy' is a song that must be discovered through the worries and questions arising from the false belief in self-confidence, the arrogance of the ego coiled deep inside, and the realization of the many lies created by the ego in spiritual materialism. It is a story about 'me' as I am and the 'enemy' that I must be most wary of.

Another song titled 'Horn' says, "We all live with a horn, and that small span is my self-esteem, a sword and shield in front of the fierce world, and everyone's expectations and love for me." When you are tired of the weight of this small but dangerous and burdensome horn that you have to bear on your own and forget and lose yourself in the familiar pain and loneliness, you need the courage to show your emptiness and weakness at least once. .

Through the songs 'My Enemy' and 'Horn', it starts with 'I', and in 'BACK' and 'Miserere', it reaches 'you' and 'us', creating resonance.

'BACK' talks about the distance between you and me.

It is a song that asks how far the distance between me and the person I love, whom I believe to be closest, actually is, and about the gap between you and me, family or generations, who are closer than anyone else but are further apart because we have each other's backs and are looking forward.

‘Miserere’, which means “Have mercy on me,” is the last prayer song left for us who are left in a dead end swept away by the boiling desire, violence, neglect, abuse, irresponsibility and indifference of the modern era (humanity).

밴드 국카스텐의 보컬이자 싱어송라이터인 하현우가 두 번째 솔로 EP [Anti ego]를 발매한다.

2018년 가슴속 꿈과 이상향에 대한 여정의 노래들을 엮은 첫 솔로 EP [Ithaca]를 공개했던 하현우가 4년여 만에 두 번째 솔로 EP [Anti ego]를 통해 한층 더 깊이 있는 내면적인 성찰의 이야기를 들려준다.

'Anti ego'는 앨범을 관통하고 모든 이야기들을 뿌리내리는 상징적 메시지로, 진정한 자아를 향한 근거 없는 신화 속의 끝없는 갈망이 만들어낸 거짓의 '나'에 대한 경계와 물음으로써, 본래 존재해 있던 그대로의 나를 발견하고 인정할 때 "너"를 향한 진정한 이해와 "우리" 스스로의 반성이 가능하다고 말한다.

앨범은 유기적으로 연결돼 모든 과정을 담아내고 있으며, 자아를 찾아가는 나의 이야기부터 이 시대를 살아가는 모두를 위한 기도를 담은 애가(哀歌)까지 세계를 확장해 나간다.

타이틀곡 '나의 적'은 자기 확신에 대한 잘못된 믿음과 내면 깊은 곳에 똬리를 틀고 있는 자아의 오만함 속에서의 고민과 질문, 그리고 영적 물질주의 속 에고가 만들어낸 수많은 거짓의 깨달음 속에서 발견해야 할, 처음 마주했던 있는 그대로의 '나' 그리고 내가 가장 경계해야 할 '나'라는 '적 敵'에 관한 이야기이다.

또 다른 타이틀 '뿔'이라는 곡은, “우리 모두는 한 뼘의 뿔을 가지고 살아가고 있고 그 작은 한 뼘은 나의 자존감이자 사나운 세상 앞에 든 칼이며 방패이기도 하고 나를 향한 모두의 기대와 사랑”이라고 말한다. 스스로 감당해 내야 하는, 이 작지만 위험하고 버거운 뿔의 무게에 지쳐 어느새 익숙한 고통과 외로움 속에서 자신을 잊어가고 잃어버릴 때, 한 번쯤은 나의 빈 곳과 나약함을 꺼내 보일 수 있는 용기도 필요하다고 말하고 있다.

'나의 적'과 '뿔'이라는 곡을 통해 '나'로 출발을 해 'BACK'과 'Miserere'에서는 '너'와 '우리'로 닿아 울림을 일으킨다.

'BACK'은 너와 나의 거리에 대해 이야기한다.

가장 가까이에 있다고 믿는, 내가 사랑하는 이와 나와의 거리는 실제로 얼마나 멀리 있는지 묻고, 어느 누구보다 가까이 있지만 서로의 등을 맞대어 각자의 앞을 보고 있어 더 멀리 떨어진 너와 나, 가족 혹은 세대 간의 간극에 대한 노래이다.

“불쌍히 여기소서”라는 의미의 'Miserere'는 현시대(인류)의 끓어넘치는 욕망, 폭력, 방관, 남용, 무책임과 무관심으로 쓸려 간 막다른 곳에 남겨진 우리에게 남은 마지막 기도의 노래다.
