Pianist and singer-songwriter Jenna Eun has returned with a new work after four years. Jenna Eun, who debuted with the band YEVEN after being selected for the Naver Musician League Album Release Project in 2019, went abroad to study as the first full scholarship student selected by Berklee College of Music and CJ Cultural Foundation in the same year. In 2021, she released an EP under the name Jenna Eun. He also debuted as a solo artist, announcing an online exhibition.
Jenaeun, who has been working as a performer and arranger in Korea and the United States for the past few years, is releasing her first music and first full-length album after completing her studies and returning to Korea. . This work, titled 'How Geniuses Fall', is an album like a memoir containing stories from the past 20s, and an album that captures moments that everyone experiences, 'when the illusion of the specialness of my existence collapses'. It contains 10 tracks that are pop music that shows the influence of jazz and electronic, while also solidifying the identity of a pianist.
This album is the result of the [JeNaEun 1st Album, How a Genius Fell] project held on the crowdfunding platform Tumblbug, and was successfully funded by greatly exceeding the target amount, and the production of the album, MD, and website was also carried out. 피아니스트이자 싱어송라이터 제나은(Jenna Eun)이 4년 만의 새 작품을 가지고 돌아왔다. 2019년 네이버 뮤지션리그 앨범 발매 프로젝트에 선정되며 밴드 YEVEN과 함께 데뷔, 같은 해 버클리음악대학과 CJ문화재단이 함께 선발한 최초의 총장 전액 장학생으로 유학길에 올던 은정아. 이후 2021년에는 제나은이라는 활동명으로 EP 및 온라인 전시회를 발표하며 솔로 아티스트로도 데뷔했다.
지난 몇 년 간 한국과 미국을 오가며 연주자와 편곡자로 활동해 오던 제나은이 학업을 마치고 귀국한 후 내놓는 본인의 첫 음악이자 첫 번째 정규 앨범 . '천재는 어떻게 몰락하는가'라는 제목의 이번 작품은 지난 20대의 이야기를 담아낸 비망록과도 같은 앨범이자, 누구라도 겪는 '내 존재의 특별함에 대한 환상이 무너지는' 순간들을 포착해 낸 앨범이다. 재즈와 일렉트로닉의 영향을 함께 엿볼 수 있는 팝 음악이면서도 피아노 연주자로서의 자아를 확실히 하는 10개의 트랙이 담겼다.
