01. Intro
I wanted to start the 'Playground' album with the sounds of nature, including the happy sounds of children running around in the playground, the members laughing and chatting with each other about trivial things, and the cool and bright weather.

02. We Could Be
The stillness of dawn just before the sun rises comes to mind. It contains the devoted message of 'I will gladly cherish and embrace you', but the beat is hip-hop R&B, so you can feel the contrasting beauty of the song while listening to the rhythm. Also, the words 'I am ready, and if you are good, we can become one' are the first things we want to say to those who listen to our music.

03. Alice
This is a song I wrote when I was obsessed with the character 'Absolam' from the movie 'Alice in Wonderland'. Even though he seemed indifferent, quietly watching Alice from behind, just throwing out advice and leisurely disappearing, I thought that he might be the best helper who helped Alice walk on the right path. When I look back on my past, I also received a lot of help, and when I thought, 'I want to be that kind of person too!', the first lyrics started with the question, 'If I were Absolam, what would I say?' I hope that everyone can meet their own 'Absolam' and flexibly overcome the waves in their lives.

04. Ruined
I wanted to have fun, I needed to make money, work is boring so I wanted to get off work as soon as I got there. I thought that everyone has had these thoughts at least once, and I thought that maybe this mindset had become the 'default' for my generation in particular. It's not just how it's portrayed in the media, but also because I saw a lot of friends like that around me. I tried to capture the various emotions that I feel and feel at the moment, such as anxiety, depression, impatience, and a little bit of hope that things will get better.

05. Show Me Your Vibe
When we first started out as Kandis, we were often asked, 'So what do you guys do?' Every time that happened, I thought, 'I'll just show you!' and the phrase that came to mind as soon as I made this beat was 'Show Me Your Vibe!' If you translate it directly, it means, 'I'll show you my vibe, so show me yours too', but rather than shouting it out in a challenging way like 'Show me!!!', I imagined it as a whisper in your ear that would gently seep into you. It's a song that captures the image of Kandis that I want to show to the public, with a slightly arrogant and cheeky(?) vibe.

06. : )
This song is a tribute to our members who occupy the largest part of my memories. We are close enough to know what they are feeling and thinking just by listening to their breathing or looking at their eyes. We share more time with each other than with our families, so it is no wonder we are called family now. I think we are those kinds of people to each other.
I'm not a perfect being, but there are many times when I feel complete when I'm with the members. I wanted the listeners to feel like they're talking to their friends, so I made the part like a conversation between the members, and this is the killing part of the song that I (Hello) chose. 'We'll keep on learning and growing and with time, the truth will keep showing'

07. BF
The emotions that we feel and gain in each relationship are all different. In a romantic relationship, it's 'thrill, love', in a family, it's 'stability, peace', and in a friendship, it feels like there's even more diverse emotions. 'Friendship, joy, envy, jealousy, etc...' We talk about things out of context and laugh out loud, we cry together about our worries and concerns, and sometimes we can do stupid things without hesitation just by being together. Also, when we try something new, we gain confidence that we didn't have when we're with friends. Sometimes we fight and get angry, but they're precious beings who can show us our true 'me', one of the few on this earth. When you're tired and exhausted, when you have a lot of thoughts at night, when you're feeling depressed, I hope our song feels like 'BF' with the lyrics, 'I'm here by your side! Don't worry. You're doing well!'

08. Weed Out
This is a song I wrote during a time when I was doing a lot of self-reflection on my own. I suddenly had the thought that no matter what, I am the only one who has to accept and solve it. After coming to this realization, I felt that in order to do that, I had to change my perspective, or my mind. After thinking about how I could convey this message in a fun way that everyone could enjoy, I started working on this song by comparing the negative thoughts and emotions in my head to weeds and coming up with the cheerful idea of, "Let's pull out all the weeds in my head!"

09. Be Humble
This song is full of our ambitions: 'Instead of comparing myself to others and arguing about who's better than me and who's number one or two, I'll just stand tall and go my own way.' There's no set answer to the path that anyone can take, but I think that just humbly doing what we have to do at every moment is the only answer given to us, so I named it 'Be Humble', and it's also my biggest belief. And the point is that the strong marching drums come out in the beginning, but then the beat suddenly changes in the middle and it transitions into a deep hip-hop mood.

10. Playground
There's a fun behind-the-scenes story, but to be honest, it's a song I made while playing around with member Nine. It contains the message, 'Wherever we are, this is our playground!' When we were recording the album, the recording studio really felt like a playground, so we joked around a lot and had a lot of fun working together. It's a song that best shows Kandis' mischievous side.

11. Reality
Just like the movie 'The Truman Show', I sometimes wonder 'Is everything I see and feel real?' I wonder if I am mistaken in thinking that I like it because I only see what the media shows me and everyone else says it is good. The lyrics 'It's time to open your eyes' contain the meaning of 'Let's take a step back and look at the world a little more broadly.'

12. What Am I
The question, "What kind of person am I?" always lingers in my head. Isn't that the question that my peers ponder the most? I thought that finding myself was a lifelong homework, regardless of age. So instead of feeling frustrated and worrying, I wrote this song with the thought, "Wouldn't it be more meaningful to find myself by confronting things and expressing myself freely?"

13. What Can I
This song is about the loss of an irreversible relationship with someone you cherish, and the emptiness that follows. I think the line in the chorus, "Say anything, it doesn't matter even if you say never," best expresses this song.

14. So Much
The beginning of this song started from 'a cute image of a girl who is not good at expressing herself and confessing her feelings with sincerity'. The image of a girl who shouts for love and asks to be hugged without thinking may seem immature and selfish at times, but I really wanted to capture the image of a girl who cannot be hated because she says 'this is the only way I can love', a girl with a lovely smile. It is a song where you can feel a chill vibe along with the guitar sound of senior Jeokjae that makes you feel like you are walking along a beach at sunset.

15. Faith
Personally, there was a time when I was so anxious and depressed that I had a hard time getting through my daily life. The only outlet I had was writing, and now that I look back, I think I wrote down the words I wanted to hear from other people at the time. This is a message I want to convey to those who have experienced, are experiencing, or will experience depression and anxiety like I did.

16. Memories (CD Only)
It's a song that I worked on a really, really long time ago, but I ended up releasing it because people around me said it was a shame to let it sit there. It contains the lingering memories and emotions of a relationship that has naturally grown apart.

01. Intro
놀이터에서 뛰어노는 아이들의 즐거운 소리들, 멤버들끼리 웃고 떠들며 나눈 시덥잖은 얘기들, 시원하고 화사한 그런 날씨들이 담긴 자연의 소리들로 'Playground' 앨범의 시작을 알리고 싶었어요.

02. We Could Be
해가 뜨기 직전 새벽의 고요함이 떠올랐어요. '내가 기꺼이 당신을 아껴주고 보듬어 주겠다.'라는 헌신적인 내용이 담겨있는데 그에 비해 비트는 힙합 R&B로 리듬을 타면서 들을 수 있는 반전미를 느낄 수 있는 곡입니다. 또 '난 준비가 되어있고 너만 좋다면 우리는 하나가 될 수 있어라는 말은 저희 음악을 듣는 사람들에게 제일 먼저 하고 싶은 말이기도 해요.

03. Alice
영화 '이상한 나라의 앨리스'에 나오는 '앱솔램' 이라는 캐릭터에 빠져 있던 시기에 쓴 곡이에요. 뒤에서 조용히 앨리스를 지켜보며 조언만 툭! 던지고 유유히 사라지는 모습이 무심한 듯해 보여도 앨리스가 곧은 길을 갈 수 있게 도와준 최고의 조력자가 아닐까 하는 생각이 들었거든요. 저 역시도 과거를 뒤돌아봤을 때 많은 도움을 받았고 '나도 그런 사람이 되고싶다!'라는 생각이 들면서 '내가 앱솔램이라면 어떤 말을 해 줄 수 있을까?' 라는 물음표로부터 첫 가사가 시작되었어요. 각자의 삶에서 파도를 만난다해도 각자의 '앱솔램'을 만나 유연하게 헤쳐 나갔으면 좋겠습니다.

04. Ruined
놀고는 싶고, 돈은 벌어야겠고, 일은 지겨우니 출근하자마자 퇴근하고 싶고, 누구나 한 번쯤은 하고 있는 생각 아닐까 하기도 했고, 특히 저희 세대는 이런 마인드가 '어느새 기본값이 되어버린건 아닐까?' 싶었어요. 단지 매체에 비치는 모습 뿐 아니라 제 주변만 둘러봐도 그런 친구들이 많아 보였거든요.. 제가 바라보고 느끼는 현재의 불안, 우울, 초조함 그리고 나아지길 바라는 조금의 희망 등 여러 가지 감정들을 담아보려 애썼습니다.

05. Show Me Your Vibe
캔디스를 시작하는 시점에 '그래서 너희가 뭐하는 애들인데?'라는 질문을 많이 받았어요. 그럴 때마다 '그냥 보여줄게!'라는 생각이 가득했고 그 시기에 이 비트를 만들자마자 떠오른 문장 'Show Me Your Vibe!' 였어요. 직역하면 '내 바이브를 보여줄테니 너도 한 번 보여봐'라는 뜻인데, 이게 막 도전적으로 외치듯 '보여줘!!!' 이런 느낌보다는 은은하게 스며들듯이 귀에 속삭이는 모습을 상상하며 썼어요. 조금은 건방지고 발칙한(?) 분위기로 대중들에게 보여주고 싶은 Kandis(캔디스)의 이미지를 담아낸 곡입니다.

06. : )
이 곡은 제 추억 속 가장 많은 부분을 차지하고 있는 우리 멤버들에게 바치는 헌정곡이라고 할 수 있죠. 숨소리만 들어도 눈빛만 봐도 어떤 기분인지, 어떤 생각을 하고 있는지 알만큼 가까운 사이, 가족보다 공유하는 시간이 많아 이제는 가족이라 불러도 이상하지 않은 사이, 우리는 서로에게 그런 사람들인 것 같아요..
완벽한 존재는 아니지만 멤버들이랑 함께 있는 순간만큼은 완전하다는 느낌을 받을 때가 많아요. 이 노래를 듣는 분들이 친구들이랑 말하는 기분을 느끼게 해주고 싶어 멤버들끼리 주고 받는 대화처럼 파트를 만들었는데 제(헬로)가 꼽은 이 곡의 킬링 파트에요. 'We'll keep on learning and growing and with time, the truth will keep showing'

07. BF
저마다의 관계 속에서 느끼고 얻을 수 있는 감정이 다 다르잖아요. 연인 관계에서는 '설렘, 사랑', 가족끼리는 '안정감, 평온함', 친구라는 관계는 보다 더 다양한 감정들이 숨 쉬고 있는 것처럼 느껴져요. '우정, 즐거움, 시기, 질투 등등…' 맥락없는 얘기들을 '와라락' 풀어놓고 깔깔거리며 웃기도 하고, 걱정 거리나 고민들에 같이 눈물 흘리기도 하고, 때론 함께 있다는 것 만으로 바보같은 짓도 서슴없이 할 수 있게 되잖아요. 또, 새로운 것에 도전할 때에도 친구와 함께라면 없던 자신감도 생기기도 하죠. 때론 싸우고 토라질 때도 있지만, 이 지구상에 몇 안되는 진정한 '나'를 보여줄 수 있는 소중한 존재. 힘들고 지칠 때, 생각이 많아지는 밤, 우울한 감정에 빠져버린 수많은 순간들마다 '내가 옆에 있잖아! 걱정하지마. 잘하고있어!' 라는 가사처럼 저희 노래가 'BF'처럼 느껴졌으면 좋겠습니다.

08. Weed Out
혼자 자아성찰을 많이 하던 시기에 쓰게 된 노래에요. 무슨일이던 결국 받아들이고 해결해야 할 사람은 나자신 뿐이라는 생각이 불현듯 들었어요.. 이런 깨달음을 얻은 후 그러기 위해선 생각의 관점, 즉 마인드부터 바뀌어야한다고 느꼈죠. 이 메시지를 어떻게 하면 '재밌게 그리고 다같이 즐길 수 있게 전달할 수 있을까?' 라는 고민 끝에 내 머릿속에 있는 부정적인 생각이나 감정들을 잡초에 빗대어 '내 머리속에 있는 잡초를 다 뽑아버리자!'라는 유쾌한 발상으로 작업을 시작하게 된 곡입니다.

09. Be Humble
'남과 비교에서 누가 더 잘났고 1,2등 따질 바에 그냥 나 홀로 우뚝 서서 내 갈 길 가겠다' 라는 우리의 포부가 가득 담긴 노래입니다. 누구나 가는 길에 정해진 답은 없지만 그저 매 순간 겸손하게 할 일을 묵묵히 해나가는 것이 우리에게 주어진 유일한 답이 아닐까 하는 생각으로 제목을 'Be Humble'로 지었고 제 가장 큰 신념이기도 해요. 그리고 특히 초반에 강한 마칭 드럼이 나오다가 중간에 갑자기 비트가 바뀌며 딥한 힙합 무드로 전환되는 게 포인트입니다.

10. Playground
재밌는 비하인드가 하나 있는데 솔직히 말해서 멤버 Nine(나인)이랑 놀다가 만든 곡이에요. '우리가 있는 그 곳이 바로 우리의 놀이터다!' 라는 메시지를 담았어요. 앨범 녹음 당시 정말 녹음실이 놀이터같이 느껴져서 장난도 많이 치고 다 같이 정말 즐기면서 재밌게 작업을 했어요. Kandis(캔디스)의 개구쟁이스러운 면모를 가장 잘 보여주는 곡입니다.

11. Reality
영화 '트루먼쇼'처럼 '내가 보고 느끼는 이 모든 것들이 진짜가 맞을까?' 라는 생각이 문득 문득 들곤 해요. 매체가 보여주는 것만 보고, 다들 좋다고 하니 나도 좋다고 착각하는 건 아닐까? '우리 한 발자국만 뒤로 물러서서 세상을 좀 더 넓게 바라보자.' 라는 의미로 'It's time to open your eyes'라는 가사를 담았어요..

12. What Am I
'나는 과연 어떤 사람일까?'라는 질문은 항상 머릿 속을 맴돌아요.. 저희 나이 또래 친구들이 가장 많이 사색하는 질문이 아닐까요? 나를 찾는다는 것은 나이를 불문하고 평생의 숙제라고 생각했어요. 그래서 좌절감에 빠져 고민하는 대신 '기왕이면 부딪혀보고 자유롭게 표현하면서 자신을 찾아보는 게 좀 더 의미있지 않을까?' 라는 생각으로 쓴 곡입니다.

13. What Can I
소중하게 생각했던 사람과의 되돌릴 수 없는 관계에 대한 상실감, 그 뒤의 공허함을 담고 있는 곡이에요. 후렴구에 나오는 'Say anything, It doesn't matter even if you say never' 라는 가사가 이 곡을 제일 잘 표현한 한줄이라고 생각합니다.

14. So Much
이 노래의 시작은 '표현이 서툰 소녀가 진심을 담아 고백하는 그런 귀여운 모습'에서 출발했어요. 사랑해달라 무작정 소리치고 안아달라는 모습이 때론 철없고 이기적으로 보일지 몰라도 '이게 내가 할 수 있는 유일한 사랑의 모습이야'라고 말하며 미워할 수 없는 소녀, 사랑스러운 미소를 띠는 그런 소녀의 모습을 정말 남김없이 담아내고 싶었어요. 노을 진 해변가를 걷고 있는 듯한 기분을 안겨주는 적재 선배님의 기타 사운드와 함께 Chill한 바이브를 느낄 수 있는 곡입니다

15. Faith
개인적으로 너무 불안하고 우울해 일상을 버티기 힘들던 시기가 있었어요. 제가 가진 유일한 통로는 글 쓰는 것뿐이었는데, 이제와 돌이켜 보면 그 당시 제가 다른 사람의 입을 통해 듣고 싶었던 말들을 써내려간 것 같아요.. 저와 같이 우울과 불안을 겪었던, 겪는 혹은 겪을 것 같은 이들에게 전하고 싶은 메시지입니다.

16. Memories (CD Only)
정말 아주아주 오래전에 작업해놓은 노래였는데 묵혀놓기 아깝다는 주변의 반응으로 나오게 되었어요. 자연스럽게 멀어진 인연에 대한 남아있는 기억과 감정들을 담았습니다.
