Kim A-reum's 'Ocean Wave' Returns on LP
- Top-level artists including Kim Hyun-chul, Lee Won-seok, and Muzi participate

'Ocean Wave' by Kim A-reum, a musician who led the city-pop boom in Korea, returns as an LP.

Kim A-reum's album 'Ocean Wave' is the first work of the 'WAVE' series, which is a new work starting from the 'AQUA CITY', 'WINTER CITY', and 'SUMMER CITY' trilogy released from 2020 to 2021. The album, which was born as a more splendid and high-quality album with the participation of many outstanding musicians such as Kim Hyun-chul, the originator of Korean city pop, Lee Won-seok of Daybreak, a band representing the domestic modern rock scene, and Muzie, a synonym for retro sensibility, has returned as an LP. In addition, for LP production, the song order was modified to produce the optimal volume and sound quality, and the sound optimized for LP was prepared through mastering.

The title song of 'Ocean Wave', 'High Teen' (feat. Lee Won-seok of Daybreak), is a song that perfectly expresses the midsummer season by maximizing the charm of the city pop genre. It expresses the excitement of a man and a woman with a beautiful melody and a more dynamic groove. The thrilling refreshing feeling provided by the gorgeous performance perfectly recreates the romantic sensibility unique to city pop that started in the 80s. The title song 'High Teen' was composed by 'city pop master' producer Space Cowboy and Jade, who have worked with Kim A-reum for a long time, and the lyrics were written by Korea's best lyricist Seo Ji-eum.

This album is so well-made that all the songs on it can be considered title tracks. Kim A-reum participated in writing lyrics for two songs, “Our Ocean” (OCEAN) and “Island,” and completed the storytelling and unique sensibility of the entire album. In addition, many city-pop crew producers from Space Cowboy, including voradory, NV, 1988, Jay Hong, and Zeenan, participated.

In particular, 'OCEAN WAVE' attracts attention by including a 2022 city pop version of Kona's song 'Our Night is More Beautiful than Your Day' (feat. Kim Hyun-chul). It is a track that highlights Kim A-reum's clear voice, and Kim Hyun-chul replaced Lee So-ra, who participated in the original song, in the intro and chorus, adding a special emotion.

※ Poor playback
1) If you use a turntable without a tonearm or weight adjustment function (mainly all-in-one models), you may experience a skipping phenomenon when playing tracks with large dynamic sound deviations. This is mostly caused by the light tonearm weight.
We do not accept returns or exchanges for playback defects caused by device issues, so we recommend playing the product on a device with adjustable tone arm.
2) Discs may not play smoothly due to static electricity and dust. This can usually be resolved by removing it with a special product.
3) If dust accumulates on the needle, playback may not be smooth.

※ Disk abnormality

LP로 돌아온 김아름의 '오션 웨이브'
- 김현철, 이원석, 뮤지 등 최정상급 아티스트들 참여

대한민국에 시티팝(City-Pop) 붐을 이끌어온 뮤지션 김아름의 '오션 웨이브'(OCEAN WAVE)가 LP로 돌아온다.

김아름의 앨범 '오션 웨이브'는 2020년부터 2021년까지 발표한 'AQUA CITY' 'WINTER CITY' 'SUMMER CITY' 3부작 이후 새롭게 시작하는 'WAVE' 연작의 첫 번째 작품이다. 한국 시티팝의 원조 김현철과 국내 모던 록 씬을 대표하는 밴드 데이브레이크의 이원석, 레트로 감성의 대명사 뮤지 등 쟁쟁한 뮤지션들이 대거 참여해 보다 화려하고 완성도 높은 앨범으로 탄생했던 앨범이 LP로 돌아왔다.. 또한 LP제작을 위해 곡순을 수정하여 최적의 음량과 음질이 나올수 있도록 작업했고 마스터링을 통해 LP에 최적화된 사운드를 준비했다.

'오션 웨이브'의 타이틀곡 '하이틴'(feat.이원석 of 데이브레이크)은 시티팝 장르의 매력을 극대화시켜 한여름 계절감을 완벽하게 표현한 곡이다. 남녀의 설렘을 아름다운 멜로디와 보다 다아니믹 해진 그루브로 표현했다. 화려한 연주가 선사하는 짜릿한 청량감은 80년대 시작된 시티팝 특유의 낭만적 감성을 고스란히 재현한다. 타이틀곡 '하이틴'은 오랜 시간 김아름과 함께 호흡을 맞춰온 '시티팝 마스터' 프로듀서 스페이스 카우보이와 제이드가 작곡을 맡고 국내 최고의 작사가 서지음이 작사를 맡았다.

이번 앨범은 전곡이 타이틀곡이라고 할 만큼 수록곡 모두 높은 완성도를 들려준다. 김아름이 '우리의 바다'(OCEAN)와 '섬'(ISLAND) 두 곡에 작사로 참여하며 앨범 전체의 스토리텔링과 고유의 감성을 완성시키기도 했다. 또 보라돌이(voradory), NV, 1988, Jay Hong, Zeenan 등 스페이스 카우보이의 시티팝 크루 프로듀서들이 대거 참여했다.

특히 'OCEAN WAVE'에는 코나의 노래 '우리의 밤은 당신의 낮보다 아름답다'(feat.김현철)를 2022년 시티팝 버전으로 재해석해 수록해 관심을 끈다. 김아름의 맑은 음색이 돋보이는 트랙으로 원곡에 참여한 이소라를 대신해 인트로와 코러스에 김현철이 함께해 특별한 감성을 더했다.
