Kim Gwang-seok Recall 2 (1995) original artwork reprint CD released!!

It is a rare Korean pop music masterpiece that catches two birds with one stone: musicality and box office success. Despite the limitations of being a remake album, Kim Kwang-seok achieved musical achievements that surpassed the original songs, including other musicians' songs as well as his own songs.
A total of 11 songs included in the album were the genealogy of Korean modern folk drawn by Kim Gwang-seok and a list of Korean folk masterpieces that he admired. The first track is <Wind and I> by Han Dae-su, who is considered the founder of modern folk. This song was first sung by Minki Kim.
After that, in the early 1970s, Kim Ui-cheol's <Unhappy Child> (widely known as <Following the Clouds in the Sky>), Yang Byeong-jip's <Car on Two Wheels>, and Lee Jeong-seon's <The Day She First Cry> in the 1980s, and Baek Chang-woo's <The Day She Cryed for the First Time>. 음악성과 흥행 성공이라는 두 마리 토끼를 잡은, 흔치 않은 한국 대중음악 명반이다. 리메이크 앨범이라는 한계에도 불구하고, 김광석은 다른 뮤지션의 곡은 물론 자신의 노래까지 원곡을 능가하는 음악적 성과를 이뤘다.
앨범에 수록한 총 11곡은 김광석이 그려낸 한국 모던 포크의 계보이자, 그가 존경심을 표한 한국 포크의 걸작 리스트였다. 첫 트랙은 모던 포크의 창시자로 평가받는 한대수의 <바람과 나>이다. 이 곡은 김민기가 최초로 노래한 바 있다.
그 뒤로 1970년대 초 김의철의 <불행아>(<저 하늘의 구름 따라>로 널리 알려진 곡), 양병집의 <두 바퀴로 가는 자동차>와 1980년대 이정선의 <그녀가 처음 울던 날>, 백창우의 <내 사람이여>, 동물원 김창기의 <잊혀지는 것>, <변해가네>, 동물원 유준열의 <새장 속의 친구> 그리고 1990년대 김목경의 <어느 60대 노부부 이야기>, 한동헌의 <나의 노래>가 이어졌다. 대미를 장식한 곡은 김광석의 <너무 아픈 사랑은 사랑이 아니었음을>이다. 세션과 편곡을 맡았던 조동익의 음악성은 이 앨범에서도 빛났다.
1990년대 대학로 소극장 라이브 콘서트 문화에 공헌한 김광석은 힙합과 댄스, 발라드에 밀려난 모던 포크의 불꽃을 되살리기 위해 혼신을 다했다. 이미 대중과 단절된 포크 음악을 당대 젊은 세대에게 전파한 것은 큰 성과였다.
