* This album was produced in LP-mono sound by reproducing the sound from the original LP, a total of 500 copies produced between October 1971 and February of the following year. The sale of the original LP was banned after the master plate and all remaining copies were confiscated and destroyed by the public security authorities in the spring of 1972.

Kim Min-ki's [Kim Min-ki] LP, released at the age of 20 with 'Morning Dew' and 'Evergreen', is an album with its own symbolic significance in Korean modern history and popular culture, and is being reissued as an LP after 54 years. This is the first time since 1971 that this album, which went through a difficult time after its release, is being officially reissued as an LP. [Kim Min-ki] Reissue LP is the starting point of archiving work in accordance with the deceased's will, who hoped that his work would remain as an honest "record of the times", and all proceeds will be used for this purpose.

[Kim Min-ki] The restored LP was made by collecting several original albums to completely preserve Kim Min-ki's voice and performance, restoring the sound sources, selecting the songs with the best sound quality, and remastering them to fit the LP format. It was then pressed at the MPO Pressing Plant in France.

The package consists of the LP in a fabric-finished case with a cover that inherits the originality of the original cover design, and a 40-page booklet. The booklet contains sheet music, lyrics, and handwritten sheet music, notes, and photos that provide a glimpse into Kim Min-ki’s growth and musical trajectory up until the album was made in 1971.

We hope that the [Kim Min-ki] reissue LP, released in memory of the first anniversary of the late Kim Min-ki, will be a small gift that transcends generations and times to those who remember and love Kim Min-ki and his music. Let's meet the voice of the young Kim Min-ki again while paying attention to the zeitgeist, lyricism, and beauty of the Korean language contained in the album.

<Artist Introduction>
Kim Min-ki, who became symbolic in the history of Korean popular music with one album released in 1971, left behind many famous songs such as "Achim Iseul," "Sangnoksu," and "Bonguri." He opened the Hakjeon Small Theater in Daehangno in March 1991 and protected the Hakjeon as a "nursery" where various arts and artists sprouted and grew, calling himself the "behind things" until his passing on July 21, 2024. The Hakjeon he led has met audiences as a venue for small theater live concerts such as Kim Kwang-seok, People Looking for Songs, Wild Chrysanthemum, and "Noh Young-shim's Small Concert," as a creative space for Korean musicals such as the musicals <Subway Line 1>, <Brothers>, and <Gaedongi>, and as a space to encounter children's daily lives and concerns such as the Hakjeon Children's Stage <We Are Friends> and <Gochujang Tteokbokki>. He has received awards including the Silver Crown Cultural Medal from the Republic of Korea Popular Culture and Arts Award, the Goethe Medal from the German government, the Paradise Award, the Samsung Ho-Am Award (Art Award), and the Grand Prize in the Theater Category at the Baeksang Arts Awards.

'아침 이슬'과 '상록수'의 김민기가 만 20세의 나이에 발매한 [김민기] LP는 한국 현대사와 대중문화에서 독자적 상징성을 지닌 앨범으로, 54년 만에 복각 LP로 발매한다. 출반 후 질곡의 시간을 지나온 이 음반이 LP로 정식 재발매 되는 것은 1971년 이후 처음이다. [김민기] 복각 LP는 본인의 작업이 진솔한 “시대의 기록”으로 남을 수 있길 희망했던 고인의 유지에 따른 아카이브 작업의 출발점으로 수익 또한 전액 이를 위해 사용할 계획이다.

[김민기] 복각 LP는 당시 김민기의 목소리와 연주를 온전히 살리기 위해 여러 장의 오리지널 음반을 수집해 새롭게 음원을 복원한 후 사운드의 상태가 가장 좋은 곡들을 선별하는 리스코어링과 LP 형식에 맞춘 리마스터링 과정을 거쳤으며, 프랑스 MPO Pressing Plant에서 프레스했다.

패키지는 패브릭으로 마감한 케이스에 원본 커버 디자인의 오리지널리티를 계승한 커버의 LP와 40페이지 분량의 책자로 구성했다. 책자에는 악보 및 가사, 1971년 음반이 만들어지기까지 김민기의 성장과 음악적 궤적을 들여다 볼 수 있는 친필 악보와 메모, 사진 등이 담겼다.

故 김민기 1주기를 추모하며 발매하는 [김민기] 복각 LP가 김민기와 그의 음악을 기억하고 사랑하는 이들에게 세대와 시대를 넘어선 작은 선물이 되기를 기대한다. 음반에 담긴 시대정신과 서정성, 우리말의 아름다움에 주목하면서 청년 김민기의 목소리를 다시 만나보자

<아티스트 소개>
1971년에 낸 음반 한 장으로 한국 대중음악사에서 상징적 의미를 지니게 된 김민기는 '아침 이슬', '상록수', '봉우리' 등 여러 명곡을 남겼다. 1991년 3월 대학로에 학전 소극장을 개관한 그는 2024년 7월 21일 별세하기까지 '뒷 것'을 자처하며 다양한 예술과 예술가가 움트고 성장하는 '못자리'로서 학전을 지켜왔다. 그가 이끈 학전은 김광석, 노래를 찾는 사람들, 들국화, '노영심의 작은 음악회' 등 소극장 라이브 콘서트의 장으로, 뮤지컬 <지하철 1호선>, <의형제>, <개똥이> 등 한국적 뮤지컬 창작 공간으로, 학전어린이무대 <우리는 친구다>, <고추장 떡볶이> 등 어린이의 일상과 고민을 만나는 공간으로 관객들을 만나 왔다. 대한민국 대중문화예술상 은관문화훈장, 독일정부 훈장 괴테 메달, 파라다이스상, 삼성호암상(예술상), 백상예술대상 연극부문 대상 등을 수상했다.
