이번 이승기 정규 5집 앨범 - 은 이승기 4집 리패키지 앨범의 대표곡 “사랑이 술을 가르쳐” 이후 약 2년 여만에 최고 스타 이승기와 최고 프로듀서 방시혁이 만나 정규 5집 앨범「TONIGHT」을 멋지게 탄생시켰다. 이번 이승기의 5집 앨범 - 「TONIGHT」은 ‘총맞은 것처럼’, ‘죽어도 못보내’, ‘심장이 없어’ 등에서 보여줬던 방시혁과 Wonderkid의 콤비 플레이가 만들어낸 스타일리쉬한 하이브리드 발라드 <친구잖아>를 타이틀로 하여 , <널 웃게 할 노래>, 등 총 4곡의 다양하고 멋진 음악이 완성되었다. 특히 이번 작업에는 곡의 완성도를 높이기 위해 믹싱과 마스터링을 미국내 최고의 실력파들과 작업했는데 세계적인 뮤지션 카니예 웨스트의 믹싱을 담당한 Ken Lewis와 세계 최고의 마스터링 엔지니어 Tom Coyene의 섬세한 솜씨로 후반부 작업까지 마무리 하여 앨범의 완성도를 한층 더 높였다.
