As he returns to fans with his 2nd mini album [The Young Man and the Deep Sea] after 5 years, following his 1st mini album [RENDEZ-VOUS], expectations are high on what kind of story he will tell.
While the last album honestly sang his own stories such as encounters and connections in comparison to the universe, relationships between people, and love, this album uses the theme of 'sea' to express the 'sea' seen through his eyes and a deeper world of music. did.
Since his first solo song 'SWIMMING' was released, this album started with his ambition to make an album with the sea as a theme someday, so this album was also led by him himself. Lim Hyun-sik, who filled all the songs with his own compositions and participated in not only the album concept and design but also the music video planning, worked in the hope that the meaning of 'the sea' as he saw it would truly reach the public. As can be seen in the sentence, 'As I grew older and lived, I felt that my life and myself were the sea,' in the commentary he left, 'Lim Hyun-sik's sea' is a 'sea' with a certain color, sound, atmosphere, and temperature. The story about 'the sea' that Lim Hyun-sik develops is not limited to any genre and unfolds in a variety of ways with alternative sounds. Lim Hyun-sik has always enjoyed reading <The Old Man and the Sea>, and the name of his 2nd mini album was created in homage to this. Lim Hyun-sik's desire to show the sea (me) of a grown young man who is no longer a boy in his 30s is similar to the firm and wise attitude of the old man toward life in the novel <The Old Man and the Sea>. The music video for the title song 'Lonely Sea (La Mar)' is full of Lim Hyun-sik's passion as he personally participated in planning it. All of the sea scenes in the music video were filmed by Lim Hyun-sik, who actually went underwater.
