MADDYXP's first full-length album [EPOCALYPSE] talks about the danger that comes from confrontation and confusion. Dangerous yet outwardly peaceful, loving yet hating, constantly conflicting but longing for survival. It digs into the chaos that humans feel while living and awakens new changes and revolutions that the future must accept, starting from that heart.

[EPOCALYPSE] is a new fairy tale drawn by MADDYXP. It is probably a familiar fact that most of the fairy tales we grew up watching have been censored and the endings have all been beautifully changed.

MADDYXP digs into the story, believing that such facts should not be forgotten. He boldly said that we should be ashamed of the fact that we forgot so many things. Have you ever looked up at the world from the lowest place, or heard the sound of the lowest place? After raising his eyes and asking a question, he was silent for a while.

He still has a fierce gaze and a cynical tone, but unlike the song 'HWAN', which was pre-released in June, it feels much more relaxed. As if the sea became calm again after the waves. In fact, he has the same mindset and attitude as when he debuted three years ago. In the end, he comforts people 'nevertheless'. It is a world that hates and hates so much, but forgives and comforts.

The 11 tracks that talk about different topics in different genres read like a book if you listen to them continuously. After entering a new world, wandering, wandering, and being lonely, he waits endlessly for someone who leaves like himself.

'To you who go a long way thinking that the reason to return someday is to leave because it is here. It's okay to come back without holding anything in your hand. Just be healthy, just be healthy. Come back when the sun goes down and you're hungry.'

제가 가장 잘할 수 있는 일이라고 생각했어요, 라고 운을 떼며 그는 이 앨범이 가진 위태로움 들을 설명하기 시작했다.

MADDYXP의 첫 정규앨범 [EPOCALYPSE]는 대립과 혼란에서 오는 위태로움을 이야기하고 있다. 위험하면서도 겉으로는 평온한 상태, 사랑하면서 증오하는 마음, 끊임없이 갈등하지만 생존을 갈구하는. 인간이 살아가면서 느끼는 혼돈에 대해 파헤치며 그 마음으로부터 시작된, 미래가 받아들여야 할 새로운 변화와 혁명을 일깨우고 있다.

[EPOCALYPSE]는 MADDYXP가 그려내는 새로운 동화이다. 우리가 보고 자랐던 동화들의 대부분은 상당한 부분이 검열되고 결말들이 모두 아름답게 바뀌어져 전해져 왔다는 것은 익숙한 사실일 것이다.

MADDYXP는 그런 사실들을 잊혀지게 두어서는 안 된다고 생각하며 이야기를 파헤쳤다. 우리가 잊고 살았던 것들이 너무 많았다는 사실에 우리는 부끄러워해야 한다고도 당돌하게 말했다. 가장 낮은 곳에서 세상을 올려다본 적이 있었는지, 가장 낮은 곳의 소리를 들어본 적이 있었는지. 두 눈을 치켜뜨며 질문한 뒤 잠시 침묵하기도 했다.

그는 여전히 매서운 눈빛과 냉소적인 말투를 지녔지만 지난 6월 선공개곡이었던 'HWAN'과는 달리 한결 홀가분해진 느낌이다. 파도 뒤 바다가 다시 고요해진 듯. 사실 그는 3년 전 데뷔할 때와의 마음과 태도가 한결같다. 결국 그는, '그럼에도 불구하고' 사람들을 위로한다. 그토록 증오하고 미워하는 세상이지만 용서하고 위로한다.

각기 다른 장르로 다른 주제를 이야기하는 11개의 트랙은 끊임없이 연속으로 들으면 하나의 책과 같이 읽힌다. 새로운 세계로 들어와 헤메고, 떠돌고, 외로워하다가 다시 자신처럼 떠나는 누군가를 하염없이 기다린다.

'언젠가는 돌아올 이유가 여기 있기에 떠나는 것이라고 생각하며 먼 길을 가는 당신에게. 손에 쥔 것 하나 없이 돌아와도 괜찮다고. 그저 건강만, 건강만 하라고. 해가 지고 배가 고파질 때쯤 돌아오세요.'
