Nell's 'Gravity Trilogy' drew favorable reviews from critics and the public, hearing that it contained musical depth and metaphor that only Nell could do in the recent music industry trend. The b-side songs 'White Night' and 'Ocean of Light' took first place on the online music charts, taking meaningful steps forward. 2. Fantasy
The second track, 'Fantasy', leads the song with an attractive tone of guitar. 1. Decompose
앨범의 문을 두드리는 ‘Decompose’는 신디사이저와 현악이 조화롭게 이루어진 웅장함이 느껴지는 곡으로 ‘중력 3부작’이 집대성된 [Newton’s Apple]을 하나의 이야기로 용해한다.

2. Fantasy
매력적인 톤의 기타가 중심이 되어 곡을 이끌어가는 두 번째 트랙 ‘Fantasy’. 기타 안에 다양한 리듬의 변화와 읊조리는 보컬 사운드가 자연스럽게 이루어져 마치 환상 속을 걷고 있는 착각을 준다. 슬픔은 언제나 모든 것이 잊혀졌다고 생각이 들 때 즈음 살며시 찾아온다. 하지만 이제는 그런 사실을 자연스럽게 받아들여야 하는 때라며 한 번 그리고 또 한 번 되뇌이고 있다.

3. 타인의 기억
‘타인의 기억’은 기타의 선율을 따라 찾아오는 향수와 담담한 목소리에서 느껴지는 추억에 대한 아련함이 담긴 곡이다. 한 때는 삶의 전부였던 것들도 시간의 흐름 속에 마치 타인의 기억처럼 낯설고 희미한 기억이 되어가기 마련이다.

4. 침묵의 역사
네 번째 곡 ‘침묵의 역사’는 사랑이라는 단어만큼이나 따뜻하고 아날로그적인 도입부, 잔잔한 피아노 멜로디와 반복되는 베이스 라인이 인상적인 곡이다. 아무 말 없이 헤어짐을 준비하는 이와, 아무 말 없이 보내야만 했던 이들이 주인공.

5. 지구가 태양을 네 번
4년이란 시간을 지구의 공전에 빗대어 표현한 제목 ‘지구가 태양을 네 번’이 음악을 듣기 전부터 감성을 자극한다. 벗어나려 해도 벗어날 수 없는, 마치 ‘중력처럼 마음을 끌어당기는 기억’에 관한 곡으로 가사는 ‘중력 3부작’ 전체를 함축한다. 경쾌한 드럼 리듬 속에 다양한 악기가 서로 어우러져 넬 특유의 서정적인 리듬감을 맛볼 수 있다.

6. Grey zone

7. Newton's Apple
묵직한 비트 위에 몽환적인 기타와 보컬이 놓여지며 시작되는 ‘Newton's Apple’. 같은 보컬 이펙팅도 어떤 음악에, 어떻게 사용하느냐에 따라 그 느낌이 얼마나 달라지는지를 여실히 보여주는 곡이다. ‘Newton's Apple’은 더 ‘이상 내 안에 있는 감정을 부정하지 않고 받아들이겠다’고 말한다. 뉴턴의 사과가 땅으로 떨어지듯, 내 모든 것은 너에게로 향한다.

8. 환생의 밤
반복되는 기타리프와 신디사이저, 폭발하듯 밀어 부치는 사운드가 매우 인상적으로 다가오는 ‘환생의 밤’. 긴장감의 수축과 이완이 한 곡 안에서 자유자재로 이루어지는 곡이다. 나약함과 무력함에 몸부림치던 인간이 절대적인 힘을 지닌 무언가를 통해 새롭게 태어난다.

9. 소멸탈출
‘소멸 탈출’은 현악과 관악이 록밴드의 사운드와 앙상블을 이루며 시종일관 극도의 긴장감을 보여준다. 이 곡은 넬이 지닌 사운드스케이프의 폭넓은 레인지를 여실히 보여주고 있다. 후회와 절망 속에서 벗어나고자 하는 이의 절박함을 표현했다.

10. Dear Genovese
‘Dear Genovese’는 미국 뉴욕에서 일어난 키티 제노비스 사건이 모티브가 된 곡이다. 외면하고 방관하는 삶을 제노비스 신드롬(목격자가 많을수록 책임감이 분산돼 개인이 느끼는 책임감이 적어져 도와주지 않고 방관하게 되는 심리현상)에 빗대어 표현했다. 드럼과 베이스의 조화가 뛰어난 곡으로 상반되는 분위기의 절과 후렴이 한 곡 안에 녹아있다.

11. Sunshine
‘Sunshine’은 초반부가 밝고 부드럽다면 후반부는 어둡고 무거운 느낌을 준다. 후반부에서는 언더그라운드 시절 넬의 느낌이 물씬 풍긴다. 곡 속에는 보석처럼 밝게 빛나길 바라는 마음이 담겨 있다. 하지만 과연 누굴 위한 바램일까. 11개의 곡들과 함께 감상해야 할 CD2의 10곡 또한 빼 놓을 수 없다. CD2에는 ‘중력 3부작’의 첫 앨범 [Holding onto Gravity]와 두 번째 앨범 [Escaping Gravity]를 모아 “Gravity”라는 하나의 대서사시를 완성한다.
