Park Joo-won, who debuted in 2009 with his first album [Gypsy Time] and quickly established himself as a solo guitarist in the Korean pop music scene, is releasing a full-length album after 7 years. announced.
As the album title suggests, it's about things Park Joo-won realized while on a musical journey to Northeast Asia, including Japan, China, and Hong Kong, following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Humans, nature, and the city. The obvious fact that music is inseparable from all things in life provided great inspiration for this new work.
Fellow musicians also contributed to the depth of Park Joo-won's music.
Yoo Chae-hoon, the leader of La Poem, the best vocal crossover group; violinist Danny Gu, a star performer in the classical world; bandoneonist Ko Sang-ji, who brought the tango genre to the public's attention; and composer and jazz pianist Unique Note, participated as special guests in this album and showed off their fantastic chemistry with Park Joo-won's guitar.
*When Summer Leaves*, with its beautiful guitar melody, allows the listener to let their imagination run wild and announces the start of the new album.
In *Aoi Hitomino Ellis (Blue-Eyed Ellis)*, a remake of a famous song by the legendary Japanese group Anzan Chichi, the original song's traditional Japanese enka style is completely reinterpreted with Park Joo-won's own flamenco guitar.
This is an unmissable point of this album, where you can fully experience his outstanding arranging skills.
The guitar and violin feast presented by Park Joo-won and Danny Gu in the title song *Danza del Este (Dance of the East)* of this album shows a perfect song composition and performance that makes you think that it will become a classic that will be remembered for generations to come.
The breathtaking unison play in the latter half is the highlight and the best part of this song.
Park Joo-won has proven himself not only as a top guitarist but also as a songwriter through albums by Choi Baek-ho, Jeong Mi-jo, IU, and more recently, through albums by Forte di Quattro's Son Tae-jin, formerly of Phantom Singer, and the group Labidence.
This time, we summoned Yoo Chae-hoon of La Poem, the greatest star born from Phantom Singer.
Yoo Chae-hoon's luxurious voice, which is based on vocal music, subtly reveals various colors in *My Confession*, the only song included as a solo by Park Joo-won in this album, and leads the song to its climax.
[Haifa Woman], included in the movie “Love Fiction,” has been reinterpreted in this album as a duo with bandoneonist Sangji Ko.
The high-difficulty, splendid performance between the guitar and bandoneon was performed with a simple, sometimes rough, and experienced breathing.
*Urban Chicos* is a song inspired by musical and cultural exchanges with numerous colleagues met while traveling through Northeast Asia, including Shanghai, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.
This song contains various musical elements that Park Joo-won has personally experienced, such as the raw gypsy music that he is currently performing, as well as the full band arrangement of brass, drums, and bass in the latter half of the song, and the funk and sophisticated fusion jazz sounds.
*El Día Que Me Quieras*, a work by Argentine composer Carlos Gardel, is a song that Park Joo-won has frequently performed on live stages over the past few years, and many fans have requested that it be included on the album.
This number is impressive for its solo guitar that unfolds freely within the melody and its transition to flamenco tango rhythm.
A paralyzed city, in the middle of Gangnam Station where not even a single person could be seen walking down the street.
Park Joo-won, who was born in the 1980s, recalled the COVID-19 era, a tragedy he first experienced, with the song *Blue Desert*.
The melody of Unique Note, played on a melodica less than 50cm long, which appears from the middle of the song, comes across as even more lonely and empty.
The ever-changing harmonies created by the intersection of minor and major keys and the meticulously developed structure of the song bring back the reverberations of the COVID-19 era five years ago that made us yearn, and further engrave the forgotten preciousness of everyday life into the music.

2009년 1집 [집시의 시간]으로 데뷔해 일약 국내 대중음악계에서 독보적인 솔로 기타리스트로 자리 잡은 박주원이, 7년 만에 정규 앨범 을 발표했다.
앨범명에서도 알 수 있듯이 코로나 시대 이후 박주원이 일본과 중국, 홍콩 등 동북아시아로 음악 여행을 하며 다시금 깨달은 것들…
바로 인간과 자연, 그리고 도시. 이 삶의 모든 것과 음악은 떼려야 뗄 수 없는 존재라는 당연한 사실은 이번 신작에 큰 영감을 주었다.

그의 뛰어난 편곡적 역량을 고스란히 느낄 수 있는, 이번 앨범의 놓칠 수 없는 포인트다.

성악을 베이스로 하는 유채훈의 명품 보이스는 박주원이 이번 앨범에서 유일하게 가창곡으로 수록한 *My Confession*에서 여러 가지 색을 은근히 드러내며 곡을 절정으로 이끈다.
영화 “러브픽션”에 수록된 [하이파 여인]은 이번 앨범에서 반도네오니스트 고상지와의 듀오로 새롭게 재해석되었다.
기타와 반도네온이 주고받는 고난도의 화려한 연주는, 간결하면서도 때로는 거칠게 노련한 호흡으로 풀어냈다.
*Urban Chicos(도시의 청년들) *은 상하이, 도쿄, 홍콩 등 동북아시아를 여행하며 만난 수많은 동료들과의 음악적·문화적 교감에서 영감을 받아 탄생한 곡이다.
이 곡에는 박주원이 현재 펼치고 있는 집시 음악의 날것 그대로의 모습은 물론, 곡의 후반부에 펼쳐지는 브라스·드럼·베이스의 완전체 밴드 편성과 펑크(Funk), 세련된 퓨전 재즈(Fusion Jazz)적인 사운드까지, 그가 직접 경험해온 다양한 음악적 요소들이 담겨 있다.
아르헨티나의 작곡가 Carlos Gardel의 작품인 *El Día Que Me Quieras *는 박주원이 지난 몇 년간 라이브 무대에서 자주 연주해 온 곡으로, 많은 팬들이 앨범 수록을 요청해온 작품이다.
멜로디 안에서 자유롭게 펼쳐지는 솔로 기타와 플라멩고 땅고스(Tangos) 리듬으로의 전환이 인상적인 넘버이다.
마비된 도시, 거리를 걷는 사람조차 보이지 않던 강남역 한복판.
1980년대에 태어난 박주원이 처음 겪은 비극인 코로나 시대를 그는 *Blue Desert*라는 곡으로 회상했다.
곡의 중반부부터 등장하는 길이 50cm도 채 되지 않는 멜로디카로 연주하는 유니크노트의 선율은 더욱 쓸쓸하고 공허하게 다가온다.
단조와 장조가 교차하며 만들어내는 변화무쌍한 화성과 치밀하게 전개되는 곡의 구조는, 우리를 애타게 만들었던 5년 전 코로나 시대의 잔향을 다시 불러오고, 잊고 있던 일상의 소중함을 음악 속에 한층 더 깊이 새겨 넣는다.
