R&B music, which has a long history, now talks about various topics. From human life from birth to death to war and peace, current issues, the appearance of R&B has become diverse. However, R&B was originally a genre specialized in singing about love, especially the most passionate love between men and women. Sex, love, and sex were the main themes of R&B artists, and how sweetly and sexily they expressed them became their evaluation criteria.

In 2015, Dazed Alive label member Rico is an artist who is faithful to this form of traditional R&B. His first full-length album [The Slow Tape] contains 10 tracks and 40 minutes of songs about only one subject. The image of a man and a woman together naked all night long, until the sun rises. The passionate image of a couple who sing their own songs in their own playground not once but several times, and show each other their specialness without reservation, is sung only in Rico's own voice through the album.

One subject can easily become boring, but the producers of [The Slow Tape] create a smooth, sometimes passionate stage and create an exciting and sacred concept album. Rookie R&B producer N-Soul is in charge of the main tracks and creates the overall mood, while neighboring label VMC's BUGGY and TK each took charge of one track to add intensity. In addition, Vida-Loca and Each ONE of All That participate to create various sexiness.

오랜 역사를 가진 R&B 음악은 이제 다양한 주제를 이야기하고 있다. 탄생부터 죽음까지의 인간의 삶에 관한 것부터 전쟁과 평화, 시사적 이슈 등 R&B의 모습은 다양해졌다. 하지만 본래 R&B는 사랑에 관한, 그것도 남녀 사이의 가장 격정적인 사랑을 노래하는데 특화된 장르였다. 성과 사랑 그리고 섹스는 R&B 아티스트의 주 소재였으며 이를 얼마나 감미롭게, 얼마나 섹시하게 표현해내는가 하는 것이 그들의 평가 기준이 되기도 했다.

2015년 Dazed Alive 레이블 소속의 Rico는 이러한 정통 R&B의 모습에 충실한 아티스트이다. 그의 첫 정규 앨범 [The Slow Tape]은 10트랙, 40분 남짓한 시간 동안 오직 한 가지 주제에 대한 노래를 담고 있다. 밤 새도록, 해가 뜰 때까지 전부 벗은 채로 함께하는 남녀의 모습을. 한 번도 아니고 몇 번씩이나 둘만의 놀이터에서 둘만의 노래를 부르며 자신의 특별함을 서로에게 남김없이 보여주는 연인의 격정적인 모습을 오직 Rico 자신만의 목소리로 앨범을 통해 노래하고 있다.

한 가지 주제에 자칫 지루해질 수 있지만, [The Slow Tape]의 프로듀서들은 부드러운, 때로는 격정적인 무대를 만들어내며 흥미진진하고 성스러운 컨셉 앨범을 구성해낸다. 신예 R&B 프로듀서인 N-Soul이 주 트랙들을 담당하며 전체적인 무드를 형성한 가운데 이웃 레이블 VMC의 BUGGY와 TK가 한 트랙씩을 맡아 강렬함을 더했다. 뿐만 아니라 Vida-Loca, 올댓의 Each ONE의 참여로 다양한 섹시함을 연출한다.
