t024, first mini album since debut 'TRACE' released!
The fragrance presented by t024; a fantasy of emotions awakened by an intense yet hazy fragrance carved into a piece of memory from the past

All the songs in this first EP, 'TRACE', written and composed by 'Senji' and 'Nap!er', members of the 'talented (Alt R&B) musician' 't024', are a culmination of the emotions that 't024' has felt and experienced, with the theme of fragrance, and attempts to express the current 't024' itself.

The main theme of the EP 'TRACE' is 'scent', and among them, the 'aftertaste' that is left behind. This is not a physical thing, but rather the communication, empathy, and memories felt between people. Each track uses this 'aftertaste' as its theme, visually reinterpreting olfactory elements to express emotions felt in various events and moments through visual 'afterimages', and presents three-dimensional music that stimulates the sense of smell and sight beyond the auditory experience for the listeners.

The song captures the tension in various situations, such as the strange tension felt when meeting a person of the opposite sex for the first time, the awkwardness of the empty space left after a loved one leaves, and the agony about one's current self. Each 'scent' has a different meaning, but some tensions express positive emotions such as excitement, while others express negative emotions such as anxiety or nervousness. I thought that the tensions felt in these 'scents' pile up on top of each other to reflect the current situation and make one feel various emotions. The EP 'TRACE' explores these emotions in more depth, and through reflection on the relationships between people and the self, it aims to form emotional empathy with 't024's' music and create a deep bond with the listeners.

In particular, the collaboration between Coldplay and The 1975, who are attracting attention in the global music market, and the Grammy-winning mix engineer Ryan Giligan, and the multi-Grammy nominated Matt Huber who has worked with Tove Lo and Maren Morris, participated in the album to increase the perfection of the album, and the drummer Sean Hutchinson who won a Grammy for his work with Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey, and the session bassist Sean Hurley who has worked with Gwen Stefani and Jason Mraz, participated in the session to add diverse musical depth. In addition, Chris Gehringer who won the Latin Grammy Album of the Year for Rosalía's Motomami and worked with Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Dua Lipa, and others participated in the mastering, which not only increased the perfection of the album but also strengthened its global competitiveness.

I hope that the afterimages and reverberations drawn by 't024' will pile up and be delivered to the current 't024' and listeners as the new album 'TRACE'. Through the experiences and memories that are unique to 't024' and the pieces that came from them, I want to clearly reveal my identity as an artist.

1. Got my attention
Based on minimal sounds and calm beats, this is a 'Dance-Pop'-based 'Deep House' genre track in which the lead synth plays a main role in the introduction and the latter half of the chorus. It expresses the appearance of a flashy city with 't024's' unique calm emotions through the recently trendy 'Stutter' sound. It gives off a casual party feeling and is reminiscent of the weather at night when you're slightly drunk. This song naturally expresses the changes in yourself when you meet a special relationship, and it also contains the vague hope that you might be able to change yourself, who has always gone with the flow, and the emotion of approaching that relationship and expecting a change.

4. It's because
This is an R&B-based track that most closely resembles the atmosphere of their previous work, 'Mixtape'. The overall feel is quite relaxed, and the simple yet repetitive chord progression and rhythm allow for a natural focus on the melody and lyrics. The arrangement, which maintains the original atmosphere in the intro and outro while also seeming to tell another story, is also notable. The idea was to express this through various variations and compositions, starting from the idea that emotions are not simple but made up of complex elements. In particular, the latter half of the song connects to the intro of the next track, the pre-released song 'Cederwood & Tangerine', which is another interesting point.

'실력파 (Alt R&B) 뮤지션' 't024'의 멤버 'Senji(센지)'와 'Nap!er(나피에르)'가 전곡을 작사, 작곡한 이번 첫 번째 EP 'TRACE'는 향이라는 테마로 't024'가 느끼고 겪어왔던 감정들을 한데 모은 하나의 집약체로서 현재의 't024' 그 자체를 표현하려 했다.

EP 'TRACE'의 메인 테마는 '향', 그중에서도 결국 남겨진 '잔향'이다. 이는 물리적인 것이 아닌, 사람들 사이에서 느껴지는 교감, 공감 그리고 추억을 표현하고자 했다. 각 트랙은 이러한 '잔향'을 테마로 후각적 요소를 시각적으로 재해석한 비주얼적 '잔상'을 통해 다양한 사건과 순간 속에서 느꼈던 감정들을 표현하고, 리스너들에게 청각적 경험을 넘어 후각과 시각까지 자극하는 입체적인 음악을 선보인다.

처음 마주한 이성을 보며 느끼는 묘한 긴장감, 사랑하는 것들이 떠난 뒤 남겨진 빈자리의 어색함, 그리고 현재 자신에 대한 고뇌 등 다양한 상황 속에서의 긴장감을 담아냈다. 저마다의 '향'은 각기 다른 의미를 담고 있지만, 어떤 긴장감은 설렘과 같은 긍정적인 감정을, 또 다른 긴장감은 불안함이나 초조함과 같은 부정적인 감정을 표출하기도 한다. 이러한 '향'에서 느껴지는 긴장감들이 서로 겹겹이 쌓여 현재 상황을 반영하고, 다양한 감정을 느끼게 한다고 생각했다.
