Description (Translated):

“The only certainty we can have in an uncertain world”
We've navigated uncertain times. Sometimes we've been shaken, and familiar things have changed. Yet, through it all, we've continued to question: Is this truly our path? What do we want to do? The answers haven't been easy to find, but our desire to find them has been unwavering.

At first, everything seemed certain. We believed our music was our identity, our path. But amidst unexpected changes, that belief began to waver. We couldn't figure out what was right, and it felt like there was no path. We wandered, feeling lost, but even as we stood still, we continued to ask questions. And through those questions, little by little, a new path began to appear. We broke free from existing frameworks, expanded our music in ways we hadn't attempted before, and faced both fear and excitement. Endless questions followed: "Will people say we've changed?" "Are we losing our past accomplishments?" Ultimately, the entire process was a path toward creating our own unique identity.

Our story, reminiscent of adolescence, was a time of constant questioning and wavering about who we were, but ultimately, little by little, we found answers. Though we looked toward the same direction, our pace and trajectory differed, and at times, the path seemed endless. Sometimes, I thought it was the end, and at other times, I longed to return to the beginning.
Despite this, what allowed us to keep going was the fact that we had each other who believed in us, and that we had a place we could return to.
Sometimes we hurt each other, but in the end, we became each other's driving force to move forward.
'The only certainty we can have in an uncertain world.'
We were each other's 'immutable law'.

We now know: if we hadn't lost our way, we wouldn't have forged our own path. Our first full-length album, "The Corner of Twenty," is a record of that journey. We hope our music can be a small beacon for someone else to find their own path.

1. 0th period self-study time (Intro)
This album speaks of "growth." It's about the times we've spent at Taste Shop, as well as the struggles and changes we've faced. I felt those times might be akin to adolescence, so I imagined myself in my final year of high school, working on the album. I wanted to capture those overwhelming moments of growth, and the process of finding my own answers within them. That's why the first track begins with "Opening the Door and Entering." It expresses the steps of opening a door and stepping into a new world.

2. The Corner of Twenty
The title, "The Corner of Twenty," has long been a word lingering in a corner of my notebook. The word "corner" seems to have many meanings. For some, it could be a beginning, an end, or a sharp, pointed edge. But don't forget: every sharp edge of you is the very essence of lovely youth!

3. Sonagi: I Wanted to Become a Pretty Cool Adult (Feat. Yang Jeong-hoon)
If we're talking about growing pains, this might be the song for you.
This song was built from nothing, gathering everyone's strength. It captures the wandering times and the dizzying emotions, and I think that's why it feels so genuine.
Have I truly become the decent adult I once thought I would be? The answer is closer to "no," but I've become a little more determined than yesterday, and I've also developed a maturity that allows me to deal with things I don't like without a fight. While I'm no longer the type to brave the elements and get caught in the rain, I've become quite meticulous, always remembering to bring an umbrella.

4. Romance
Why is life so dull and tedious? I'm so young, after all. In those moments, try eating without a plan and walking down an endless road. Couples who look happy just by looking at each other, a souvenir shop that warms your heart just by looking at it, and when you catch a glimpse of yourself in a glass window and find yourself smiling, what a blessing that is. Even without doing anything, our lives can sometimes be romantic enough.

5. Immutable Laws
“We hurt each other, but in the end, we will love each other. Because we are the immutable law!”
Partings and reunions are commonplace for us in our rapidly changing world, but aren't there some bonds that endure? That's who we are. We've been running tirelessly, and while there's certainly some uncertainty, we're still confident. Yet, we're certain: we will become an unchanging law.

6. Come to Me
"I'll run anywhere if you come to me!"
This is music I hope will resonate throughout a vast stadium. This melody is dedicated to you, the stalwart saviors of taste shops. May we join hands and move forward together.

07. When you breathe in
Things that used to be insignificant sometimes leave my heart pounding. Does becoming an adult mean accepting such moments without a second thought? The sadness of separation seems to dull with time, but I don't understand why my childhood separations felt so bitter and painful. My life felt meaningless without you, and I longed for you to return and stay by my side immediately. A winter separation leaves my breath cold and my eyes stinging. My pent-up emotions cool down, but then quickly well up. I hope you understand how alone I am without you.

08. Ad Balloon
“Can you go anywhere with me? Even if it’s a very dangerous place.”
Have you ever seen a hot air balloon floating in the sky? There's no place more fantastical and yet so dangerous. But who knows, maybe your loved one will walk that path with you.

09. Greetings from the Outskirts
There are things I neglect because I'm so focused on my own shortcomings: my long-time lover, my family, my friends…
How grand was my youth that I couldn't think of the things that were fading away?

“불확실한 세상 속에서 유일하게 가질 수 있는 확신”
우리는 불확실한 시간을 지나왔다. 때로는 흔들렸고, 익숙한 것들이 변했다. 하지만 그 속에서 우리는 계속 질문을 던졌다. 이 길이 정말 우리의 길인지, 우리가 하고 싶은 게 무엇인지. 쉽게 답을 찾을 수 없었지만, 답을 찾고 싶다는 마음만큼은 분명했다.

처음에는 모든 것이 확실해 보였다. 우리의 음악이 곧 우리의 색이고, 가야 할 길이라고 믿었다. 하지만 예상치 못한 변화 속에서 그 믿음은 흔들리기 시작했다. 무엇이 옳은지 알 수 없었고, 길이 없는 것처럼 느껴지기도 했다. 방향을 잃은 듯 방황했지만, 멈춰 서 있는 동안에도 우리는 계속 질문을 던졌다. 그리고 그 질문 끝에서 조금씩 새로운 길이 보이기 시작했다. 기존의 틀을 벗어나 시도하지 못했던 음악을 확장했고, 두려움과 설렘을 동시에 마주했다. '사람들은 우리가 변했다고 할까?', '과거의 성취를 잃어버리는 건 아닐까?' 끝없는 질문들이 따라왔지만, 결국 그 모든 과정은 우리만의 색을 만들어가는 길이었다.

사춘기와 닮은 우리의 이야기는, 자신이 누구인지 끊임없이 고민하고 흔들리면서도 결국에는 조금씩 답을 찾아가는 시간이었다. 같은 곳을 바라보지만 각자의 속도와 궤적은 달랐고, 길이 없는 것처럼 보이기도 했다. 때로는 끝이라고 생각했고, 때로는 처음으로 돌아가고 싶었다.
그럼에도 불구하고 계속 나아갈 수 있었던 건 '믿어주는 서로가 있다.'는 것, 그리고.. 돌아갈 수 있는 곳이 있다는 것.
때로는 서로에게 상처를 남기기도 했지만, 결국엔 서로가 다시 나아갈 원동력이 되어주었다.
'불확실한 세상 속에서도 유일하게 가질 수 있는 확신.'
우리는 서로의 '불변의 법칙'이었다.

우리는 이제 알고 있다. 길을 잃지 않았다면, 우리의 길을 만들지 못했을 거라는 것을. 정규 1집 <스물의 모서리>는 그 여정의 기록이다. 우리의 음악이 또 다른 누군가에게 자신의 길을 찾아가는 작은 등불이 되기를 바란다.

이번 앨범은 '성장'을 이야기하고 있어요. 취향상점이 지나온 시간들이기도 하고, 또 우리가 맞닥뜨린 고민과 변화의 과정이기도 해요. 그 시간들이 어쩌면 사춘기와 닮아 있다는 생각이 들어, 고등학교 졸업반을 배경으로 상상하며 작업했습니다. 막막한 성장의 순간들, 그리고 그 안에서 스스로 답을 찾아가는 과정을 담고 싶었어요. 그래서 첫 번째 트랙은 '문을 열고 들어가는 것'부터 시작됩니다. 문을 열고 들어가서, 다시 새로운 세상으로 내딛는 발걸음을 표현했습니다.

2. 스물의 모서리
'스물의 모서리'라는 제목은 제 메모장 한켠에서 오래도록 자리하던 단어였습니다. 모서리라는 말은 여러 가지 의미가 있는 것 같아요. 누군가에겐 시작일 수도, 끝자락일 수도, 혹은 뾰족하게 드러난 날카로움일 수도 있죠. 하지만 잊지 마세요. 그대의 모든 각진 모서리, 사랑스러운 젊음 그 자체임을!

3. 소나기 : 나는 제법 근사한 어른이 되고 싶었지 (Feat. 양정훈)
성장통을 이야기한다면, 아마 이 곡이 아닐까요?
이 곡은 완전한 '무'에서부터 모두의 힘을 모아 쌓아 올린 곡입니다. 방황하는 시간과 어지러운 마음이 고스란히 담겨 있어, 그래서 더 진솔하게 느껴지는 곡이라고 생각해요.
과연 나는 과거에 생각했던 만큼 괜찮은 어른이 되었을까요? 정답은 '아니'에 가까웠지만, 나는 어제보다는 조금 더 마음을 다잡고, 마음에 들지 않는 일도 무던히 해결할 수 있는 성숙의 모습도 지니게 되었습니다. 소나기 같은 궂은 날씨에도 굴하지 않고 비를 맞던 나는 없지만, 잊지 않고 우산을 챙기는 제법 꼼꼼한 내가 되었지요.

4. Romance
삶은 왜 이렇게 따분하고 지루할까요. 난 이렇게나 어린데 말이에요. 그럴 때는 계획 없이 밥을 먹고, 끝이 없는 도로를 걸어보세요. 눈만 봐도 행복해 보이는 연인들, 보기만 해도 마음이 몽글해지는 소품샵, 그리고 문득 유리에 비친 나를 보았을 때 웃음짓는 내가 예뻐 보인다면, 얼마나 다행인 일상인지. 이처럼 우리의 삶은 아무것도 하지 않아도 때로는 충분히 낭만적이니까요.

5. 불변의 법칙
“우리는 서로 상처주지만, 결국은 사랑할 거야. 왜냐하면 우리는 불변의 법칙이니까!”
급변하는 우리에게 이별과 만남은 흔한 일이지만, 그럼에도 질기게 이어지는 인연이 있지 않나요? 그게 바로 우리입니다. 쉴 틈 없이 달려온 우리에게 확신도, 물론 불확신도 존재하지만, 그럼에도 우리는 확신합니다. 우리는 불변의 법칙이 될 거라고요.

6. Come to Me
”그대만 내게 온다면 어디든 달려갈거야!“
광활한 스타디움에서 울려 퍼지길 바라는 음악이에요. 취향상점의 든든한 구원자, 그대들에게 바치는 선율입니다. 서로 내민 손을 맞잡고, 함께 더 먼 곳으로 나아갈 수 있길.

07. 숨을 들이마시면
아무렇지 않았던 것들이 때로는 마음을 탁 막히게 할 때가 있죠. 어른이 되어간다는 것은 그런 순간들을 아무렇지 않게 받아들이는 걸까요? 시간이 지날수록 이별에 대한 슬픔은 무뎌지는 듯하지만, 어렸을 적 나의 이별은 왜 이렇게 시리고 아팠는지 모르겠습니다. 그대 없는 나의 삶은 무의미하게 느껴지고, 당장이라도 돌아와 내 곁에 머물러 주길 바랐죠. 겨울의 이별은 숨이 차갑고, 눈이 따갑습니다. 울컥한 마음은 식다가도 금세 차오릅니다. 그대 없는 나의 혼자됨을 알아주길.

“나와 어디든 가줄 수 있어? 그곳이 너무 위험한 곳일지라도 말이야.”
하늘에 떠 있는 열기구를 본 적이 있나요? 그만큼 환상적이면서도 위험한 공간은 없을 거예요. 하지만 혹시 몰라요. 내 옆의 사랑하는 이는 그 길을 함께 걸어가 줄지도요.

나의 모서리만 생각하느라 배려하지 못한 것들이 있습니다. 나의 오랜 연인, 혹은 가족, 나의 친구들…
