Vital Degree's first studio album [The Chronicle of War].

Vital Degree breaks away from the existing pop-melody-centered style and presents a new musical world based on authentic Power Metal, combining the composition and development of Progressive Metal with grand orchestration.

Combining intense riffs, lyrical melodies, and diverse song progressions, they deliver an immersive experience akin to watching an epic poem, completing a grand metal opera with their first full-length concept album, **[The Chronicle of War]**.

Album Concept
**[The Chronicle of War]** is a concept album in which composer Schevy Kim captures the brutality of war, human sacrifice, and the courage and love that bloom amidst it all, reflecting on the wars and conflicts continuing around the world over the past few years.

The story is set in medieval Northern Europe.

It portrays the life of a warrior in seven chapters, following the eyes of the protagonist, **Alex**. It captures the epic journey of a human being who grows into a hero amidst war, fights to defend his homeland, and completes his life through love and sacrifice.

Story
I. The Expedition
Late Roman Empire, Rhine border region.

Germanic and Scandinavian warriors who came down from the north served as **Foederati** and learned Roman military tactics and civilization.

II. Fiat Lux
Among them was **Björn**, a descendant of Vikings who lost his parents in childhood and grew up in the Roman army.

With his outstanding martial skills and leadership, he became the commander of a North Germanic mercenary unit at the age of twenty; in recognition of his achievements, he was granted the name Alexander—or Alex—a name symbolizing Roman citizenship, along with the praise of being the "shield protecting humanity" by a Roman centurion.

Afterwards, he traversed numerous battlefields and built a reputation as the greatest warrior and leader.

III. Return Order
Alex, having turned thirty, decides to retire and returns to his hometown wearing a red cloak and the **Gladius** he received in Rome.

However, the village was in ruins due to the invasion of a newly emerged evil tribe called the **Berserkers**.

He fights alone, but keenly realizes that he cannot stop the massacre by his own strength alone. Nevertheless, he does not lay down his sword until the very end, rescuing the surviving tribesmen and leaving a spark of hope in the village.

IV. The Mobilization
In the midst of battle, Alex saves **Ingrid** from the brink of death.

The two rebuild the village with the surviving residents, care for the wounded, and train new warriors.

Hope is gradually returning to the village that was once filled with nothing but despair.

V. Marvelous Night
As time passes, the village regains its vitality, and the people's laughter returns.

Alex and Ingrid, having overcome trials together, fall in love and get married amidst the blessings of the villagers.

VI. The Engagement (In the Battleground)
The peace did not last long.

The Berserker army invades again, and Alex prepares for the final battle alongside the village warriors.

The villagers wrap a wolf skin around his body and bestow upon him the symbol of the hero **Beowulf**.

After a fierce battle, Alex stands at the brink of death, witnesses a vision of an angel, breaks through enemy lines with superhuman strength, and finally saves the village.

VII. The Hall of Valhalla
Ingrid, who set out to find Alex after the battle, finds him lying on the ground covered in blood.

Alex, held in her arms, quietly closes his eyes, wishing one last time for the peace of the village and Ingrid's happiness.

At that moment, a beam of light descends from the sky to envelop his soul, and the soul of the great warrior slowly ascends to the hall of Valhalla in Norse mythology.

**[The Chronicle of War]** is not just a war story.

It is a metal opera that weaves war and sacrifice, love and honor into a single narrative, and is Vital Degree's first full-length concept album that combines the energy of authentic power metal with the intricate composition and grand orchestration of progressive metal.

로마 제국 말기, 라인강 국경 지대.

북쪽에서 내려온 게르만과 스칸디나비아 전사들은 **포에데라티(Foederati)**로 복무하며 로마의 군사 전술과 문명을 익혀 나간다.

II. Fiat Lux
그들 가운데 어린 시절 부모를 잃고 로마군에서 성장한 바이킹의 후예 **비요른(Björn)**이 있었다.

뛰어난 무예와 통솔력으로 스무 살에 북게르만 용병대를 이끄는 지휘관이 된 그는, 공적을 인정받아 로마 백부장으로부터 **'인류를 지키는 방패'**라는 찬사와 함께 로마 시민권을 상징하는 이름 알렉산데르(Alexander), 즉 **알렉스(Alex)**라는 이름을 하사받는다.

이후 그는 수많은 전장을 누비며 최고의 전사이자 지도자로 명성을 쌓아간다.
