The lyricist and composer who participated in this album was Han Tae-soo, who made 'Beautiful Country', composed and arranged the prologue song "Consolation" of this album. Lyricist Chae Jung-eun, who participated in the song, contributed to most of the songs in this album,
Choi Joon-young, composer of 'Emergency', gave the album a boost by taking on the title of the first act, 'The Traveler', and the producer of this album, music director Park Ki-duk, taking on the title of the second act, 'The Himalayas'. 임재범의 정규 7집 앨범이자, 7년의 공백을 표현하는 중의적 의미의 SEVEN과 이제 쉼을 멈추고 비로서 숨을 쉬며 전진하겠다는 ,(숨표) 가 더해진 7집 앨범명 [SEVEN,] '세븐 숨표' 로 돌아온 임재범!!

7집의 구성은 프롤로그 곡을 시작으로, 1막 3곡, 2막 3곡 , 3막 3곡 , 그리고 에필로그 한 곡까지, 총 11곡으로 지어진 작은 뮤지컬과도 같은 앨범이다. 요즘처럼 싱글 앨범이 주된 음악시장에서 11곡이 담긴 정규 앨범을 만나는 건 매우 의미 있고 반가운 일이라 생각된다. 각 막에는 그 막의 주제를 대표하는 타이틀곡인 [여행자], [히말라야],[아버지 사진] 이, 세월만큼 만큼 깊어진 임재범의 감성을 여러 각도의 다양한 음악적 표현법으로 담아냈다.
오랫만에 지인에게 인사를 건내는 프롤로그 곡 [위로], 따뜻하지만 때론 아프기도한 집을 나서며 느끼는 1막에 [여행자], 절망끝에 희망의 빛을 따라서 가보는 2막에 [히말라야], 집에 다시 돌아와 새로 시작하기위한 기억 정리의 과정 3막 [아버지 사진], 그리고 내 감정이 정리되니 비로소 보이기 시작하는 세상 이야기 에필로그 곡 [홀로 핀 아이] 까지, 전 곡을 순서대로 들었을 때 전 곡이 한개의 소설이 되어 들리는 특별한 구성의 앨범이기에, 꼭 전곡을 순서대로 들으시길 추천드린다.

이번 앨범에 참여한 작사 작곡가는 '아름다운 나라'를 만든 한태수가 이번 앨범의 프롤로그 곡 “위로' 작곡, 편곡을 맡았으며, '너를 위해', '사랑보다 깊은 상처', '비상' 등 임재범의 수많은 히트곡에 참여한 작사가 채정은이 이번 앨범 대부분 곡에 작사에 힘을 보탰으며,
'비상' 작곡가 최준영이 1막 타이틀 '여행자' 를 이번 앨범의 프로듀서인 박기덕 음악 감독이 2막 타이틀 '히말라야'를 맡으며 앨범에 힘을 불어 넣었다. 3막에는 Mad Soul Child의 수장인 이상열 작곡가를 필두로 류영민 작곡가의 의기 투합으로 '아버지 사진'을 완성하며 임재범 본인이 느끼는 감정을 음악속에 잘 표현을 하였다.3막은 임재범 본인의 이야기를 담고 있으며 딸을 생각하며 만들어진 김현철 작곡의 '너란 사람' 먼저 떠나보낸 소중한 사람을 기억하며 윤상, 임재범 공동 작곡 '내가 견뎌온 날들'도 채정은 작사가의 아름답고 애틋한 마음이 담긴 노랫말로 표현이 되었다.
